My Top 10 | Months 2-3

Baby Months 2-3 Top 10

 1.  Activity Gym/Mat

Finley spends so much time on her mat/activity gym!  She loves looking and grabbing at the hanging toys.  Some individual play time is key for development, too…for finding toes, rolling, and such.

2.  Halo SleepSack SwaddleMe

After a little over a month Finley started to outgrow the Summer Infant SwaddleMe (and was able to break out of them), so we switched to Halo SleepSacks.  I love that these can be worn with arms swaddled or not, so they are a great way to transition to sleeping without a swaddle.  There is also more room for the legs to move around so they transition from the swaddle in that way, also.

3.  Burp Rags

Burp rags.  And lots of them.  Flannel ones are crap.  The best ones I’ve found are the Just One You burp rags at Target (shown above) or just plain ol’ Gerber cloth diapers (you can dress them up with ribbons or fabric sewn down the center).  I can’t believe how many burp rags out there that aren’t absorbent!  What’s the point?!

4.  Dr Brown Pacifiers

Every baby is different, but this is the only type that Finley likes now.  I wish she liked MAM pacifiers because they are so cute, but Dr Brown has some pretty cute designs, too.

5.  Small rattle or toy

Babies don’t need much at this age for toys, but a small rattle or toy that’s easy to grab is great to have around when they start grabbing.

6.  Boon Grass

Essential as a catch-all for bottles, nipples, bottle parts, breast pump parts, etc.  Even better than the ‘grass’ is the ‘lawn’ at double the size.  Trust me, you’ll accumulate enough that you’ll want double the size!

7.  Dr Brown Bottles

I know there are die hard Dr Brown bottle fans out there that will tell you that it really helped their baby with gas/colic issues or that they are the only way to go.  We like them.  They have worked for us.  Finley likes the nipple and prefers it to different ones that we’ve tried.  The nipple doesn’t collapse when she eats like some do.  And I love that the threads on the bottles fit onto my breast pump so that I can pump directly into the bottles.

8.  Medela Pump In Style

I started back to work just before Finley turned 2 months old (way too soon!), so this was my best friend for a while!  If you’re planning to go back to work a good pump is definitely worth it.  Check with your insurance…mine was covered 100% under preventative care.

9.  Bedtime Bath and Soothing Vapors Bath

Bath time is important around our house as a part of a bed time routine.  I love the bedtime bath for everyday use and the soothing vapors bath was wonderful for when Finley had a cold or was stuffed up.

10.  Breastmilk Storage Bags

I stored expressed milk in these bags and sent them to day care with Finley each day.  Also great for your freezer stash of expressed milk.
