Oh yes it’s a real thing. Haha. Originally started to honor the ‘doughnut dollies’ that served doughnuts to the soldiers during WWI and as a fundraiser by the Salvation Army during the great depression…it has basically devolved into an excuse for ridiculously sweet treats for breakfast.
